Doing the right thing in the wrong way, is just as destructive as doing the wrong thing.

The “Health care reform” bill that the US Senate will soon vote upon, can be summed up as 2000 pages of unregulated and un-Constitutional power. No longer will it be insurance companies we have to fear, it will be the federal government and unelected officials who are accountable to no one. What irony! Medical decisions will still be made by people who aren’t involved in your case, but once the government takes it over, those agents will not be as well trained as they are today. With the exception of the Armed Forces, nothing is ever more efficient or better administrated by the government. It’s always worse.

There is too much wrong with this bill to “mend it.” Forcing taxpayers to fund the twisted culture of death that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and other angry belligerents are pushing, it just plain WRONG. And somewhere deep down, we all know it’s wrong. Under the guise of providing health care to those who “cannot afford it,” this bill will actually strip healthcare benefits from 120 million Americans. You will enroll in the plan or be jailed. Those fortunate few who will still able to afford a healthcare plan will pay income tax on it, in order to fund the substandard government health care for those who are not “fortunate” enough to have or want a job. What benefit is there in this?

Disabled veterans, cancer patients, and the aged will receive “counseling” to coerce them into foregoing the treatment that could prolong their lives, putting the federal government in the position of valuating one’s life. That’s a position that we simply cannot accept. If such a valuation were possible, shouldn’t it be higher for those who have contributed to the country for their entire lives? Well, it will not be so. The highest values will go to younger people whose votes Democrat politicians covet, even the deadbeats whose miserable lives we have been subsidizing since their birth.

And then, there’s the price--$1.3 trillion. These people must be out of their minds to think that America can survive such a burden. We are in the midst of the deepest recession many of us have ever seen, that was started by mismanagement and political corruption at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Hundreds of billions of dollars we do not have, were given to various banks, investment companies, and even a couple of automobile manufacturers to keep them afloat. Just where do you think that $1.3 trillion is going to come from? It will be borrowed, of course--and the loans will be paid by your grandchildren and theirs (if America survives that long).

The American citizens deserve to know what’s in this 2000-page colostomy bag of special interest pork and payola. But our federal government has done everything possible to prevent that. Mr. Obama has publicly lied about what the plan contains. Don’t think for one minute that Congress or the President will be required to enroll in this massive medical-care-rationing program. As they so often do, they will exempt themselves. What’s good enough for the masses in not adequate for politicians. Where is the benefit in this plan if the Constitution is laid waste in the process? Many people often forget that it’s the Constitution that protects us from malevolent government officials.

This is what happens when people don’t believe in simple truth or deny what they know. Everything can be justified, and nothing can be proven. The denial of truth is a serious threat to this country and it’s people. Sadly, it’s my generation, (baby-boomers), and that of my parents, the so-called “greatest generation” who brought us to this point. We may well be witnessing the end of freedom and liberty as we have come to know it.

If the idea of government run health care appeals to you, just bump up the remote, and let your mind go back to blank. But if this bill upsets you, call or email your Senators now, and keep calling them until this obscene bill is defeated. The Senate may well go ahead and pass this bill, but when they do, let them know that they will also be ending their own careers.

Contempt by Congress

These guys are something else. They’ve approved bailouts galore for everyone of their political allies, even a tidy pay raise for themselves, but no pay increase for the military.

It’s time that Congress be forced to listen to, and respond to the desires of the people. This current “leadership” has demonstrated such contempt for the people, that is has passed legislation that is clearly and overwhelmingly opposed by the people. And now, it seems destined to do so again.

The left-wing lunatic leadership in Congress, continues to push the cap-and-trade bill. Why? Could it possibly be because Pelosi, Waxman, Markey, and Al Gore stand to make billions on the “green” stocks they each own? Of course, it is. And none of them is even attempting to conceal their disgusting corruption. They are militant in their contempt for the people and arrogant in their false claims that they are “working in a bi-partisan way.”

That’s why we must DEMAND that they vote against the Obama “Cap-and-trade” legislation. With the economy in the tank, (thanks to Democrats) this is no time to force people to pay more for energy to fight a fabricated environmental crisis. I believe that the next election will be the greatest turnover of Congress that the country has ever seen. The reason? Simple. Contempt for the very people that lawmakers have sworn to represent, and defiance of the Constitution that they have sworn to uphold.

This is also why we cannot afford “universal healthcare.” We cannot even prevent Social Security and Medicare from bankruptcy. Democrats have reflexively and bombastically opposed any and every attempt to fix these two programs. Who in his right mind believes that this is a good time to EXPAND the federal giveaways?

Obama is not qualified to be president because he is NOT a native-born citizen. This will become apparent in the weeks to come. And when it is, we must DEMAND that Congress fulfills its Constitutional responsibility and impeach, then convict Mr. Obama. No one who has "nothing to hide," spends millions of dollars to stonewall the investigation into his citizenship--a matter which should have been settled BEFORE the campaign began.

Why else would Obama hire a law firm in 2006 to research ways to circumvent Article 2 of the US Constitution? And why does he continue to defy repeated requests for his birth certificate? Remember when Mr. Obama’s grandmother was ill in Hawaii? Why did it take him nearly a week to go there to see her? We know why. It's because his visit had nothing to do with his grandmother, and everything to do with planting a counterfeit birth certificate into the records. And why were the vital statistics records suddenly sealed after his arrival? And why did no one from the press ask him about any of these facts?

You know as well as we do--because a phony copy of an Obama birth certificate was entered in the database--the very one that the Obama campaign released to the press during the campaign--an obvious fake, and a crude and sloppy one at that.

We need to put Congress on notice, and insist that they start paying attention to the demands of the people of, or face the greatest political blood-letting that America has ever seen. We'll be watching every move they make from here on out.

America under Assault

The name might sound benign enough, but the hate crimes bill in Congress, is really about discrimination against the righteous. Once again, “hate crime” legislation has been proposed which will add federal criminal charges to crimes against those of a different “sexual orientation.”

As is usually the case with Democrat-sponsored legislation, the foundation or justification for this law is deceptive and false. House Democrats originally stated that there was in this country, an epidemic of hate crimes against people because of their sexual orientation. The truth is that since Congress mandated the tracking of crimes against homosexuals during the Clinton administration, an average of 1500 people out of 300 million, may have been victims of “hate crimes.“ That's .000005% of the population. This tiny number does not constitute an epidemic. Once Democrats were humiliated by the falsifying of these facts, they withdrew the fundamental justification. Without a clear criminal reason to change the law, one might think it should not be fixed. Predictably, it is the heinous side effects of this bill that make it so offensive and dangerous.

The term, sexual orientation, is not defined in the bill, therefore, it could be interpreted to include any kind of sexual deviance, not just homosexuality (which is bad enough). This bill is a clear violation of the equal protection clause of the US Constitution. It will also be used to trample upon the free-speech rights of pastors to speak the truth about homosexuality and other types of sexual aberrations. Pastors could be jailed for telling their congregations of God’s law about sexuality. Some will interpret sexual orientation to include pedophiles. Knowing this, House Republicans offered an amendment to the bill to prevent the protection of those who sexually abuse children, but Democrats refused the amendment. They also offered a bill to protect senior citizens--a group that really has endured "hate crimes." No deal say Democrats.

Never before has a group of people, identified by a particular behavior been given special protection in law. If this bill passes, look for states to shut down their sex offender registries. According to this law, there could eventually be no such thing as a sexual offense.

Also being debated, is the energy cap-and-trade bill that is being called by the misnomer, Energy Bill. For the third year, Democrats are set to pass an energy bill that contains no energy, despite the fact that two-thirds of the country wants an increase in domestic energy. And once again, the bill is being advocated with deception and falsehoods. Under the premise of controlling “global warming,” the hotly debated but unverifiable political move based upon pseudo-science, Democrats want to increase the price of oil, gasoline, coal, and other fuels, by taxing them ostensibly in proportion to the amount of carbon dioxide produced by burning fuels.

Democrats make the absurd claim that carbon dioxide is a carcinogen. Carbon dioxide--that inert gas that is exhaled by every living mammal and required by every live tree and green plant, is, according to liberals, “poisoning the earth.” If this was not so dangerous a philosophy, it would be laughable. This bill is estimated to cost every American taxpayer at least $3900 per year. It will rise year after year, causing a very real threat to the poor and elderly who are living on fixed incomes. Many of these people have trouble paying for heat now. When the cost explodes, the number of people affected will multiply many times.

Democrats have long claimed to represent the working man, the average Joe, helping those who cannot help themselves. But these extremist policies will penalize the good and decent people who simply want to live a good life in America. There is nothing “democratic" in either of these policies.” The vast majority of people who understand what is at stake, oppose them. But the network media continues to do the public relations work for the Democrats, deceiving the public and grossly underestimating the costs. If these bills are enacted, we may be the last generation of Americans who lived free lives unhampered by the government. Little by little, the rights of ordinary people are being forfeited. Once they are gone, and Democrats have entrenched themselves in government offices, there will be no turning back. The time to stop this insanity is now. Make Congress and the president hear from you, while you still can. That right may well be gone before the next election.

                                                More of the Blame Game

   A new and disturbing thing is happening in America. Local Chambers of Commerce are running a message on local TV stations, claiming that commerce determines the health of our economy and that increasing our purchasing will end the recession. It’s partially true, but not entirely. Investor confidence has nearly as much to do with the economy as actual spending. What’s outrageous about this ad, is that it promotes Democrat talking points which are dead wrong. Obviously, the Chambers have been provided these talking points by the Obama administration’s Commerce Department.

    The Ad tells us that “Commerce determines the health of our economy.” Really? Obama and Congressional Democrats have been telling us that the federal government--specifically, the Bush administration, is the reason for the bad economy. If that were true, the federal government would, likewise, be the solution. But it is not. The $1 trillion Obama stimulus package fixed nothing. With 9000 earmarks in the bill going to the worst criminal elements of the Democrat party, how could it?

    In their ad, representatives from the Chambers of Commerce say, “the turmoil created by the November election over.” How can it be over? Our network media has been telling us that the economy is in the tank for the past six years--this “turmoil” did not begin with the last election season. The ads go on to say that unless we start spending, we will create an economic recession. They must be kidding. According to our media, and President Obama, we have been in a recession since last summer. The only way to truly “stimulate the economy” is cut taxes, and cut them deeply. In this economy, wise people won’t spend money that they don’t have, buying things they don‘t need while their jobs are in jeopardy.

    The Chambers’ ad also claims that the country is heading in a new direction, and they are right. But the direction that America is now following, is the wrong direction--leading to enormous national debt, punitive tax hikes, death to millions of unborn children, and the wholesale promotion of sexual perversion. There will be no action taken by this administration to tighten Americas borders, giving criminals and terrorists free reign to kill our citizens and steal their money.

    Do they really think that anyone will believe the message that the Obama administration gave them to parrot, when he has spent the past 2½ years telling us the opposite? They say that gas prices are the lowest in years, and they are. But that’s not the result of Democrat policies. Those of us who still have functioning memories, know that fraud in the housing market is the real reason for the economic collapse. And even now, Democrat policies of forcing banks to lend to those who cannot pay them back, are in effect. Because of that, what reason is there for optimism about our economic future?

    I am a fierce advocate of free commerce and trade. But neither can be promoted with a blind eye toward, the ignorant, arrogant, reckless and immoral federal government we now have. The Chambers running these ads are doing a terrible disservice to the good people of southwest Virginia, by encouraging irresponsible spending. They might have some credibility if they had begun running these ads eight months to a year ago, when there was still time to prevent a recession. The timing of these ads tells speaks of the true motivation.

    This was not supposed to happen. The national media talking down the economy was intended to get Democrats elected, which it did. But then the economy was supposed to recover immediately after Obama was sworn in. And it hasn’t. They did too good a job of destroying the US economy, and the policies that Democrats have embarked upon will not help.

    The local Chambers should stop lying to people. The truth is that unless capital gains and income taxes are cut, anything and everything else we do will have a negligible effect on the economy. The Chambers and their Democrat friends, also need to stop blaming the public for this mess. The Chamber of Commerce is no place for politics. Especially not faulty liberal politics which punish successful businesses, and use their money to buy votes.

Now that the joys and excitement of Christmas and New Year’s are past, it’s time for dread. Once again, it’s time to keep a close eye on what happens in Washington. By all predictions, it won’t be good. The economy is beginning to grow again, despite the costly and reckless government intervention programs. But the good economic news could actually be bad news for the American taxpayer.

With more income and steady economic growth, the Obama administration is likely to conclude that taxpayers don’t need all of that money they are making, and should give more to the government so that Democrats can “spread the [your] wealth around” and purchase 2010 votes with those dollars. Look for dramatic increases in the roles of those collecting federal dollars, where currently, 40% of Americans are receiving money from entitlement programs. Congressional Democrats are already promising federal aid to those who have defaulted on their home mortgages. When this occurs, bear in mind that the problem that caused to mortgage meltdown has not been rectified.

It was Congressional Democrats along with presidents Carter and Clinton who began requiring that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac provide capital to more “minority communities.” In order to do this, mortgage companies were forced to make loans to borrowers who could not afford them. And when the number of bad loans became great, the mortgage industry collapsed. Now, it is the US treasury--not Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac alone--that will secure many of these worthless loans. With the passage of a few bad rules, America is becoming a place where the lazy and the reckless are guaranteed home ownership at the expense of people who pay their bills on time. The reason that this is so wrong, is that, in many cases, poverty is a choice. People choose to drop out of school, they choose to commit crimes which limit their choice of occupations, and they choose not to work. The federal government should never be in the business of protecting people from the consequences of their own actions for one important reason. The undesirable consequences are the greatest motivators of growth and self-improvement.

On the issues of energy and the environment, there is much to be troubled about. First, Obama has stated a desire to end the production of electricity from coal, even with “clean coal technology.” If enacted, this policy will cause the price of electricity to soar. Nuclear power plants can be a low-cost option, but Congressional Democrats will never permit another terrestrial nuclear plant to be built in the United States, despite a long history of accident-free development. As the cost of electricity increases, so will the cost of production in the United States, which will lead to fewer jobs and higher prices of domestic goods. And this is before the introduction of legislation to address “global warming.”

The idea that global warming is caused by mankind’s use of fossil fuels, is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated upon a people. Despite the claims made by environmental radicals and virtually every nature or science program aired on PBS, there is no agreement that global warming is occurring at all. Neither is there any agreement among scientists that carbon dioxide is the cause. Carbon dioxide which results from the burning of coal and oil, and emitted by all breathing organisms, is considered a “pollutant” by Al Gore and his environmental nut-jobs. The issue of global warming is a political issue, not a scientific one. But even if it was a fact that mankind was responsible for “global warming,” does anyone really think that man can correct it? After all, we have introduced foreign species of insects to control the damage caused by domestic bugs, only to learn that the imported variety has no natural enemies, so that they multiply uncontrollably. And it is man’s “good intentions” that eliminated the practice of routine burning of brush and tree litter that has caused wildfires to become giant conflagrations consuming vast areas of forests. The very last thing the world needs is man attempting to modify the environment, even if it were possible, which it isn’t.

There will be many more discouraging actions taken by Congressional Democrats and Obama, but if the American people are wise, they will conclude that putting the ultra-liberals in control the federal government was a terribly foolish move, never to be repeated. And President Bush’s policies weren’t nearly as bad as leftists and the media have been declaring for the past eight years.

Can You Say Hypocrisy?

Last night, Barack Obama aired his campaign infomercial. He presented what are ostensibly, average middle-class people who are “suffering” from the declining economy. He showcased one family of heavy-weights where the mother claimed that she would go to the grocery store to buy a gallon of milk, but could only afford a half gallon.

In another family, a mother says that she has just given her children the last snack that she will be able to afford for the week. Finally, a couple of senior citizens appears. The wife says that is a retired public school teacher, she has reumitism, and takes 12 different medications. She laments the fact that while her husband was working, all of her medications were covered by his health care insurance, but now, they have trouble affording them. In each of these families, the adults are waiting for Barack Obama to win the election, then, their lives will be better.

Reumatism is a painful condition, and little can be done to relieve it, but doesn’t Medicare’s drug benefit pay for them? Surely, 12 medications are not required to treat ruematism. It’s a pathetic situation really--that these people’s lives are so out of control, that only the election Barack Obama will improve their lot. The truth is that after President Bush’s tax cuts expire, each of these families will pay higher federal taxes. And if times are tough, with most people paying far more money in taxes than food or medicines, why are these the things that they choose to cut back on?

During the Democrat convention, Barack Obama said, “I am my brother keeper, I am my sister’s keeper.” And now he says he wants to take care of you. Really? Barack Obama’s long lost brother, George, has been found living in a shack outside Nairobi, Kenya. He lives on a paltry $1.00 per month. Obama has done nothing to help his brother, even after being told that George has been located. This week, the Boston Globe reported that Obama’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango is living in a South Boston slum with uncle Omar. Not surprisingly, the mainstream media has chosen not to give the stories of Obama’s family any coverage. They have been actively promoting Obama, even as they attack John McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin.

Apparently, Obama wants to help people, but only with our money--not his. Obama’s tax returns that were released to the media, showed that he’s a rather stingy guy, giving an average of only 2% to charities over the past seven years. President Bush gave 12% on much less income.

John McCain and Obama promised to limit the size of their campaigns by taking federal dollars. Obama broke that promise. Now he plans to increase federal spending by nearly a trillion dollars. Congressional Democrats want to cut defense spending by 25%, an unwise action with a two-front War on Terror.

Democrats killed the nation’s economy by requiring lenders to make loans to people who could not afford to pay them. Now, Obama wants us to pay to keep them from being forclosed. Democrats own the collapse of the economy, but Obama continues to blame President Bush and Congressional Republicans. What a change, what a surprise, what hypocrisy.

                        Change You Cannot Believe--The Real Barack Obama

Despite the media’s reluctance to expose any criticism of Obama, an interview surfaced this week with the Democrat candidate, in which his contempt for America is laid bare. It’s far more important what Obama says in unguarded moments than what he says in campaign speeches and ads.

In a 2001 interview on WBEZ, Chicago public radio, Obama said that the courts have not been effective instruments in redistributing wealth. The wealth he speaks of is your wealth, no his own. And his plans for the wealth of others is not limited to taxpayers earning over $250,000. His plans include all wealth. He goes on talking about “economic justice” which is codespeak for the socialist form of wealth redistribution. To Obama, the fact that you can work hard and long to build wealth while others who refuse to are left poor, is patently unfair. Leftists often speak of economic justice and environmental justice. The truth is that justice needs no such descriptor. Free capitalism provides justice--no government intervention is required.

Obama goes on to describe what he calls a “flawed charter,” the Constitution of the United States of America. He claims that the Constitution is faulty because it provides what he describes as “negative rights” which are those things that the government cannot do to you. He laments that the Constitution does not articulate what the government can do for you, (or to you.) He laments that the Constitution gets in the way of redistribution with all of those limits on government that are difficult to overcome. If Obama is elected, prepare for that to change. It will be done by activist judges from the US Supreme Court down, who legislate from the bench, because the Democrat party and Obama do not trust the people to “do the right thing.”

Barack Obama is nothing short of a socialist, and for those who do not realize how dangerous socialism can be, Nazi Germany was a socialist state, and provided the circumstances that lead to Adolph Hitler’s rise to power. Obama’s policies will cripple the economy, forfeit America’s sovereignty to the United Nations, and put America’s national security at risk. He opposes offshore drilling, favoring tire inflation and undeveloped and uninvented alternatives energy sources.   His own running mate, Delaware Senator Joe Biden, promised last week, that within the first six months of an Obama administration, America will be tested. The test will be an international crisis, and he asked his audience to stand firm because, “at first it will not be clear that we are doing the right thing.”

This week, Barack Obama’s campaign has released some new television ads. In one, a voice continues to join McCain to President Bush, something that, for McCain, should be an honor.   Obama opposed the surge, and still refuses to admit that it was a categorical success. Obama sought defeat. Obama opposes drilling off the continental shelf, favoring tire inflation and undeveloped and uninvented alternatives.

An Obama presidency would be a foreign-policy disaster. He was wrong about the surge in Iraq, and accused our military personnel of “bombing villages, and killing women and children.“ He is supported by dictators, Moammar Kadafi, Hugo Chavez, Kim-jong Il, the Castros, and Iran’s president, Ahmadinijad. Despite what the mainstream media reports, Obama’s tax plan will cost Americans from the middle-class and upward, more than the economy can afford. Jobs will be lost, and the economy will decline. All honest analysts agree. He will use tax policy to punish success and reward those who he and Democrats in Congress favor.

Hubris does not begin to describe Obama’s view of the Constitution. He says that he will support the 2nd Amendment, but in Illinois, he pushed legislation to ban guns and convict citizens who use their guns to defend themselves and their families. Obama supports “partial birth abortion,” which is nothing short of murder. He even opposed a law which would have required doctors to provide a minimum of “comfort care” to babies who survived a botched abortion. It’s not unexpected since we heard him say publicly, that if one of his daughters “makes a mistake and gets pregnant, I don’t want her punished with a baby.” To Obama, an unwanted pregnancy is punishment, but stealing the hard-earned income from middle-class taxpayers is not.

Democrat leaders, Pelosi and Reid, expect to pick-up seats in the House and Senate. These are the same Democrats who, during the past two years, have tried to secure America’s defeat in Iraq, who have prevented drilling for our own oil, and who caused the mortgage industry’s collapse.

Obama has made it clear that he will say and do anything to get elected.   What’s at stake is nothing less than your freedom. Obama will seize or control your income, and seize or regulate your rights. He hates America and despises its Constitution. How can anyone who hates the country be trusted to lead the country? He cannot. Obama’s ideas are wrong, and his policy plans are dangerous.

Why Barack Obama is Unfit for any Public Office

For the past year and a half, we have watched our agenda-driven left-wing media buffet Vice-presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, with pointed questions and questions based upon a false premise, and investigate every aspect of her personal and professional life. But as we have come to expect, these same politicos have yet to point out any of the glaring faults that make Barack Obama unsuitable for any public office. There are more than a few characteristics that if John McCain possessed them, would be used by the media to crucify his chances of ever being elected. I present but a few.

Obama is a racist. Despite the fact that Barack Obama has disavowed his former pastor, the notorious, Jeremiah Wright, there is good reason to believe that he and his wife, Michele mimic Wright’s despicable worldview. Wright is a follower of what is called, “Black Liberation Theology.” Many of the books in the church’s bookstore are written by ultra-racist, James H. Cone. Cone, the author of A Black Theology of Liberation and God of the Oppressed, proclaims that to be white is to be satanic, and that it is not possible to be white and a Christian—only blacks can truly follow Christ. The bitterness of this poisonous belief system has been displayed by Michele Obama in her remarks, “For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country,” and “America is a mean country.” It has also been displayed by Barack Obama when, to an assembly of wealthy campaign donors, Obama spoke of people in Pennsylvania as, “bitter people who cling to guns and religion with antipathy for those who are not like them.” It’s simply not reasonable to believe that the Obamas could have, for 20 years, listened to pastor Wright spew out the bile of his racist hatred without adopting much of it. Psychologically, people simply do not do things unless there is a pay-out for them. The real tragedy is that they subjected their children to the kind of racist hate speech that Wright is known for.

Obama is not a leader. Unlike US Senators, the position of the President of the United States is that of a leader, and Obama has shown neither natural ability nor learned skill in leading others. In fact, as an Illinois state senator and as a US senator, Barack Obama has not convinced others to side with him. On the contrary, Obama most often left the others and went his own way. An example of this is when, in Illinois, his committee recommended passage of a bill that would make it a crime to kill, through purpose or neglect, a child who had survived an attempted abortion. When the bill was put to the full senate for a vote, Obama was the lone voice of opposition. Even his anti-war views are not his own. He simply co-opted the rage of the far-left Move-On.org and Code Pink kooks of the Democrat party. And again, he has not shown any ability to sway others to his side.

Obama is a serial hypocrite. Just this week, Obama’s campaign began running ads that criticize John McCain for failing to pass any new regulations regarding the mortgage industry. Yet it is Obama who hired former Fannie Mae officials, Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson, and it is Obama who took $120,000 in campaign cash from Fannie Mae. Obama’s campaign was swift to come out attacking Governor Palin for being too inexperienced to possibly fulfill the role of president should tragedy befall John McCain. And yet Governor Palin has far more experience than Obama himself. Obama has never acted as an executive, is adverse to making a committed decision, as demonstrated by his 130 “present” votes in the Illinois state senate, and was only a US Senator for 140 days before leaving the Capitol Building to campaign for the presidency.

Obama has demonstrated very poor judgment. Barack Obama has demonstrated poor judgment in his associations. He began his political career at the home of domestic terrorist, William Ayers. Obama also nurtured a business relationship with convicted felon, Tony Rezko. Rezko helped Obama purchase his current home at a price far below the market price at the time. Obama’s choice of pastor Wright is another example. More recently, Obama has given numerous speeches about economic revitalization in America. But his plan always includes tax hikes, which have been proven to be counterproductive to economic growth. Obama has yet to acknowledge the success of the surge in Iraq, and his remarks during the primary season are very telling of his reckless ideas. Obama said that he is willing to meet with the heads of terrorist states without preconditions. And when asked how he would handle a hypothetical terrorist attack, Obama said that his first response would be to organize first responders such as police and law enforcement. Any one of these character flaws should provide reason to reject Barack Obama once and for all, and if he was a Republican, any one would be. But taken together, Obama has demonstrated that the combination of his character defects, lack of experience, and poor judgment would be dangerous to the people of America and the world. Whenever they are criticized for their distorted “news coverage” our leftist media claims that it is their responsibility to make people aware of the facts. Conservatives simply want them to do their job objectively and honestly. This they refuse to do.

Just over one week ago, we learned that the US Treasury took control of the mortgage giants, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to keep them from going bankrupt. This week, Lehman Brothers went broke, Merrill Lynch was bought by Bank of America, and AIG, the country largest insurance company, was loaned billions of dollars by the treasury to keep it from going under. And although Barack Obama blames John McCain for failing to recognize the economic problems, he has not been honest with the public—and for good reason.

The so-called government enterprises, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have been run as private companies, but are guaranteed by the US taxpayers, a disastrous relationship by definition and design. They have both been cash cows for their top executives, but not for the taxpayers. Clinton appointee, Franklin Raines made $90 million dollars during the few years he was the CEO, but was fired once it was discovered that he had overstated Fannie’s earnings by $10.8 billion. Former Obama aid, Jim Johnson took a $5 million-dollar-a-year salary from Fannie Mae, and was hired by Obama to vet his VP pool. Fannie has also been a reliable source of campaign contributions for Democrat and Republicans. Obama received the largest campaign contribution of any Congress member, $120,000, followed closely by Chris Dodd and John Kerry.

Fannie and Freddie have been used as a slush fund by unscrupulous Democrat politicians like Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd and North Dakota Senator Kent Conrad who are supposed to be providing oversight. The mortgage backers have been used to fund a number of liberal non-profits tied to them. To his credit, President Bush has tried many times to reform Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, but has been blocked from doing so by the Democrats in both houses. And now we know why Fannie and Freddie shares plummeted.

In the first years of the Bush administration, the President touted that home ownership was at a historic high. This caused Democrat members of Congress to whine that there were not enough mortgages being given in “low income and minority communities.” So the rules were changed in order to give mortgages to people who were known to be unable to pay for them. In some cases, they were given sub-prime mortgages. And now, Congressional Democrats want to use even more federal tax dollars to keep those same people in houses that they should never have been given in the first place. Meanwhile, they continue spending money as if it was worthless—and before long, it will be.

In his so-called economic policy, Obama promises to give "middle-class taxpayers" a $1000 stimulus, adding to the already bloated national debt. And the tax increases he has planned will cost many thousands more, leaving you with a net loss. The media has been hiding this little "detail." In light of Obama’s incestuous relationship with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, does anyone really believe that he will do anything to reform them? And when is the media going to ask Obama to return the $120,000 in campaign cash to the taxpayers? Don’t hold your breath.

                                   America’s Enemies--Lest We Forget

Just as people from my generation remember where we were when John F. Kennedy was assassinated, people of this generation will forever remember where they were when we were attacked by terrorists on 9-11. The memory of that terrible day is permanently branded into our minds. It was a stunning and sinister attack--flying airliners into the “targets,” the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and possibly, the Capitol Building.

Only 8 months into his first term, President George W. Bush became our comforter, our defender, and, for many of us, the nation’s prayer partner. Character is not built in times like this, it is revealed, and President Bush demonstrated that he was up to the task. It wasn’t long before we knew that Al Qaeda was behind the attacks, and since that time, we have hunted down and killed 10,000 Al Qaeda terrorists. Within days after 9-11, we learned that we have other enemies--advocates of terrorism right here in the United States.

Less than one week after 9-11, a letter was discovered from Democrat Senator, Jay Rockefeller to the DNC describing how they could use the tragedy to bring down President Bush. Despite the fact that most Congressional Democrats authorized the offensives against Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Iraq, it was not long before they began coming out and trashing our troops, slandering our President, and blaming American foreign policy for the senseless attacks. Their vicious attacks were amplified by a left-wing media.

Massachusetts Senator John Kerry accused American troops of “bombing women and children and air-raiding villages,“ words parroted by Senator Barack Obama. Democrat Representative John Murtha, relying on the word of Al Qaeda sympathizers, accused US Marines of open fire on innocent civilians. The charges were proved false, but Murtha has yet to retract his despicable remarks. On the floor of the US Senate, Democrat Senator Dick Durbin compared President Bush’s execution of the war in Iraq to the evil of Adolph Hitler in the Nazi death camps, and to the killing fields of Pol Pot in Cambodia. Congressional Democrats have done all that they could to ensure America’s defeat in Iraq--an act that makes each one of them unfit for office.

More recently, Senate Majority Leader, Dirty-Harry Reid declared that the war in Iraq was lost, and to this day, Senator and former community agitator, Barack Obama, refuses to admit that the surge of forces in Iraq was a success. These heinous and outrageously false public charges know no precedent in American history. Prior to 9-11, both parties adhered to a policy of keeping their political criticism within the US borders. But these Democrats have taken their hate and rage abroad to Europe and Asia in the persons of Al Gore and former President Bill Clinton. And of course, who can forget Barack Obama’s former pastor, Jeremiah Wright’s tirade in which he said, “No, no, no, not God bless America--God D____ America.” He went on to say that America’s crimes overseas, her “chickens have come home to roost.”

Never before in American history, have we seen members of the US Congress--Democrats--undermine our President and our national security. Never before, has there been such naked hatred for a sitting American president, and never before, has there been such a display of viper-politics, by one party against another. This was not done to former President Clinton during the war in Kosovo; Congress united for the sake of the military. And now, one of the very US Senators who has so publicly slandered our President and accused members of United States armed forces of “bombing villages and killing women and children,” is running a campaign to become their Commander-in-Chief. It would be a supreme travesty to put Obama over the brave men and women who have served us so gallantly to defend us from Islamic terrorism.

America has two deadly enemies today--Islamic militants who attempt to break our resolve by murder, and Democrats who seek to destroy the country from the inside out. The outcome will be the same if either group succeeds. We will lose our freedom, and our rights will be taken away. This November, is the time for Americans to face the facts, and purge the Congress of our nation’s domestic enemies, left-wing Democrats.

Barack Obama accepted the nomination of his party last night in the grand finale of the Democrat National Convention. Today, hardly anyone is talking about it except to point out the facts--it had no substance, and in his attacks on John McCain and President Bush, Obama sounded mean and bitter. But today is a new day. By noon Eastern time, even that discussion had stopped. In a master stroke of careful selection and precise timing, John McCain chose Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate. As expected, the Obama campaign immediately went on the attack, charging that she has no experience. The hypocrisy is staggering. And the truth is that Mrs. Palin has more experience than Obama himself.

Let’s take a look. Palin is not a career politician. She is a mother, athlete, hunter, fisher, and advocate of oil exploration--the industry that employs her husband. She joined the PTA, was elected to the city council of her town, then mayor, and now is the governor of the largest state. She has 13 years of elected office experience. Obama launched his campaign at the home of domestic terrorist William Ayers, who ushered him into the same old established liberal Chicago Democrat politics.

Obama says that his campaign is about change, but he has no record of actually accomplishing any change. He was a community activist [agitator,] but no one outside the Senator himself speaks of what he did there. He voted “present” 130 times--not “yes,” not “no,” just “present,” or as Hillary Clinton has said, “that’s a maybe.” Palin has created change. She has the executive experience that Obama lacks. She went into politics to get roads fixed, and ran for governor on the promise to end the corruption and cut government waste, and that‘s what she did. She cut her own salary, cut property taxes, and refused federal dollars earmarked for an unneeded bridge. And when she discovered corruption by oil companies, she went after them. Obama has no plan to cut spending at the federal level. On the contrary, he wants to increase spending by creating new government programs that we do not need, and that will cost $825 billion of additional tax dollars.

Governor Palin is ardently pro-life. She has five children. Her oldest son is in the Army in Iraq, and her youngest son, Trig, is only five months old. Trig has Downs Syndrome, and Mrs. Palin was urged by doctors to abort him, but she refused. Palin declared that the child was a gift from God and she treasures him as much as her other children. She said that John McCain “is the kind of man she wants her son to have as Commander-in-Chief.

Obama is militantly pro-abortion. Obama refers to an unwanted pregnancy as being “punished with a baby.” He has opposed every restriction on abortion, even the killing of children who survive an abortion. Obama was against the war in Iraq (though his VP, Joe Biden supported it) he was against the surge, (though it worked) and has continually called for an arbitrary pull-out in Iraq that would have dangerous consequences for the Middle East and the United States. Obama has advocated sending US troops to Darfur to intercede in the civil war there. Most of the violence in Darfur involves Muslims killing and raping the Christians.

Barack Obama accuses John McCain of “giving tax breaks to companies that send jobs overseas, but it’s just not true.” But John McCain does not demonize every large and successful business. McCain has been a very vocal opponent of earmark spending for many years and has refused it for his home state of Arizona. Obama takes the money--lots of it.

Osama’s “energy plan” includes what he calls, “fast-tracking” alternative energy sources. But one cannot speed-up innovation simply by throwing money at it. He has said that oil can be eliminated as a source of energy in ten years. The truth is, that’s just not possible. Our economy runs on oil. And there is not yet a satisfactory replacement for it. Ethanol does not replace gasoline, it only stretches it by 10%. And the unintended consequence of Congress’s ethanol mandate has been skyrocketing food prices.

Yes, the economy has slowed, but we are not in a recession. The economy grew at a rate of 3.3% last quarter, compared to -.0159 for the last quarter of Bill Clinton’s administration. During his paid speech to the convention, Bill Clinton said that the Democrat party was going to win because “we are on the right side of history.” Well, now the Republican Party is on the right side of history, with a pair of candidates who represent middle-America, and have a great investment in America’s future. Both Senator McCain and Governor Palin have sons in Iraq, and they deserve a commander-in-chief who will allow them to come home victorious and proud, rather than broken and ashamed.

Republicans have a ticket that represents everything good about America--a strong military, economic freedom, sure, but with a big stick held over corporations that may attempt to defraud the public. Governor Palin brings ethical reform, and a distaste for government abuse that she shares with McCain, a heart to defend innocent life, and a genuine understanding of what middle-class America sees every day. The Obama-Biden ticket has none of that.

In his speech to the Democrat convention, Obama said, “I am my brother’s keeper,” and yet his real brother lives in a shack outside Nairobi, Kenya, on a scant $12 per year. Obama has done nothing to help him, but conservatives will. Sean Hannity and his listeners have raised $1000 for Obama’s brother. That’s Obama--no substance, just words, just speeches as even Hillary Clinton has demonstrated. The choice is clear. We can elect McCain, who has the experience and understanding of America’s greatest challenges, and the decisiveness to fix them, or Obama who has some speeches he’s given, many bad mentors who have advised him, and reckless policies that will ruin the economy and put us at great risk.

Who Democrats and Obama Really Are

This week begins the Democrat National Convention in Denver, Colorado, and much effort and many words will be spent trying to paint a pleasant picture of Barack Obama and Democrats in general. But who are today’s Democrats really?

Just last week, Obama was asked when he thinks that life begins. His inability to answer was followed with, “that’s above my pay grade.” The best recent example of what Democrats believe about the American electorate was leaked to the people, when unbiased media outlets such as Fox News, played parts of a speech that Senator Obama gave to wealthy campaign contributors in San Francisco a few months ago. In the speech, Obama said that voters in Pennsylvania, (a state that Hillary Clinton won) as “bitter people clinging to guns and religion with antipathy toward those who are not like them.” It has long been known that liberals believe that the average American voter is ignorant, as their condescending speeches often show. But now, we learn that Democrats also think that average middle-class voters are racists as well. Nothing could be further from the truth.

It’s interesting however, that in every election, all liberal Democrats attempt to define themselves as conservative. They fight charges of being called, liberal by those who have followed them, and attempt to identify themselves with the majority of the American electorate, which is overwhelmingly conservative. Then, once they get elected, they race to the left to enact their radical policies. Bill Clinton did this in 1992, as did Jim Webb in 2006. You’d think that Americans would get tired of being fooled, but because we generally choose to think the best of people, we tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. But this year, with Barack Hussein Obama running for the nation’s top job, it’s going to be a tough sell.

Just months ago, Obama’s wife Michele said of America, it’s a “downright mean country,” and that for the first time in her life, she is proud of her country. It’s a puzzling viewpoint for someone who has benefited so much from the freedom and generosity of American citizens that she does not even know--people who defended her right to attend the Ivy League college she graduated from, who struggled to give her the opportunity to earn a million-dollar salary, as well as those who defended her right to trash America with her caustic, ungrateful remarks. It’s not conceivable that Barack Obama does not have similar feelings about this country. And that’s why his associations are so important.

A few months ago, the country learned of Obama’s racist, anti-American pastor, Jeremiah Wright--the man who was Osama’s “spiritual mentor” for 20 years. Michele Obama’s remarks about America echo Wright’s. Obama is also friends with the terrorist and University of Illinois professor, William Ayers. Ayers was responsible for bombing the Pentagon and a New York City police station. On September 11, 2001, the New York Times quoted Ayers as saying, “I wish we had done more” [bombings]. Unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers is the man who Obama went to when he wanted to get inside the Democrat machine in Chicago. Obama has known Ayers, and about him, for 13 years. We all know that if John McCain had friendships with men like these, the media would hound him like a dog until he denounced both of them. Not so with Obama.

Barack Obama was only in the US Senate 140 days before announcing his intent to run for president. He has no record of accomplishment and he offers no change for the better. His policies are simply the same failed left-wing policies of Ted Kennedy and the Clintons, exploding the federal government by 24%, and taxing income, energy, and business. Obama has no plan for the economy. Instead, he has a tax plan, and his plan will ruin the economy for years to come, and he‘s been wrong about Iraq; wrong about the surge strategy.

Americans have much to be proud of. We are the most generous nation on earth--whenever there is a natural disaster anywhere in the world, the US is first on the scene. And in Korea, Viet Nam, Iraq, and many other places around the globe, we are always ready to help nations to secure freedom and liberty for those who cannot do so by themselves.

The presidency is no place for rank amateurs with no experience. It’s no place for a man who doesn’t love America, a man who will not defend America, a man who does not know what every elementary school student knows--that a fetus is a living human being. Obama is unqualified, unfit, and totally unacceptable for the presidency or any public office. He nothing more than a pair of ears on a stick.

When Will They Get It?

While America approaches the time when high oil prices relate directly to increased sickness, and even death, Democrat leaders in Congress do nothing. House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid stall action of any meaningful legislative action and obstruct Republican efforts to reverse high oil prices and our dependence on foreign oil. Meanwhile, Democrats, with willing aid of their accomplices in the mainstream media, attempt to deceive the public into believing that years of arbitrary bans on energy production are not the cause of the high cost of energy. They also make the argument that anything done today will have no effect on prices for years to come—a position repudiated by the facts of the market. But this time it seems, the public is not biting.

Since heating oil is essentially the same as diesel fuel, the price of both is nearly identical except for a small reduction in tax rates in some locations. Time is running out—in some parts of the country, the heating season is only weeks away.

Democrat deceivers have tried to blame their favorite scapegoats, the oil companies, they have tried to blame commodity speculators, and they have attempted to convince us that alternative energy sources are the answer. The fact that no alternative energy source exists that is comparable with petroleum, is lost on these liberals. Alternative energy will “evolve” as market prices necessitate. Until then, there is no number of billions of dollars in tax revenue that will bring them to the market any sooner.

On the campaign trail, the policies of the candidates are predictable. John McCain favors opening offshore areas to exploration, and suspending the federal taxes. Obama’s plan is a mirror image of the same old failed policy that Democrats in Congress passed last year, which says “NO” to all new energy production. Their so-called “energy bill” should have been named, the “energy suspension bill,” because it contains restrictions and new taxes without addressing the real problem of an energy shortage. The slowing economy has been further injured by high oil prices, since oil is the primary fuel needed for transportation of goods and services throughout the country.

Don’t tell me that the Democrat party is the party of “the common man.” For the past 21 months, Democrats have backed resolutions that have endangered our troops, most of whom come from common, middle-class backgrounds. Democrat leaders advocate the expiration of the tax cuts that President Bush enacted, which will further burden an already stressed middle-class. And now, with their ignorant and reckless energy legislation, Democrats will ensure that those middle and lower-middle-class families that struggle to make ends meet, will endure further hardship in the future.

The electorate is often accused of being selfish and short-sighted. But when it comes to oil exploration, selfishness is warranted because what is good for the family, is also good for the nation. For this reason, Obama cannot win the November election. Democrat politicians have been reckless with our national security, and now they are jeopardizing our economic security. Their jobs are to represent the interests of the people. With this Congress, the people have no advocate on Capitol Hill.

No Kooks

Barack Obama’s unsavory associations with the racist, anti-American bigot, Pastor Wright, and unapologetic terrorist, William Ayers are well-known. So too, are his dealings with crook, Tony Rezko, and his friendship with anti-Semitic Louis Farrakhan. Less well-known are his policies. Sadly, many of Obama’s supporters have little or no knowledge of the junior Senator’s policies, goals, and beliefs. And that is a very dangerous situation, indeed.

It’s difficult to map a clear image of Obama’s recent actions in the U.S. Senate, because, a. he has no record of accomplishment, b. he was only active in the Senate for 134 days before announcing his candidacy for US president, and c. most of the votes Obama did cast, are simply “present,“ meaning that he refused to commit to either side of an issue. He claims to have been a “community activist,“ but stops short of defining what he did in that position. It should be noted that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are “community activists.” What is known of Obama’s policies is very troubling.

During his tenure in the Illinois Senate, Obama was the only member of that body to vote against a bill that would made it a crime for physicians to kill babies that survived abortion attempts. In defense of his position, Obama said that voting for the ban was, “a slippery slope,” to abortion restrictions. According to Obama, if a full-term or premature baby lives in spite of attempts to kill it in the womb, the physician should be able to put it to death by denying any assistance to the child. Clearly, Obama’s view of abortion rights is extreme and radical, but given his perception of unwanted pregnancy, this should not be surprising. During the primary season, Obama said that if one of his daughters “made a mistake” and became pregnant, he didn’t want her to be “punished with a baby.” Someone should inform Mr. Obama that pregnancy is the natural consequence of sex.

As for his tax policy, Obama believes that the tax code should be used to further punish success--an absolutely insane idea. Instigating more class hatred, Obama has said that he thinks the “rich” should pay higher taxes, and that companies that move to other countries in order to be competitive, should be punished. He has proposed government giveaway programs that will require much additional revenue. In America, the top 10% of income earners pay 90% of the taxes--a situation that is patently wrong. Obama will skew the tax tables so that the wealthy will pay more money in taxes than they will be “permitted” to keep for themselves. Sadly, many Americans who are unsatisfied with their own income, support higher tax rates for those who earn more than they do. It is little more than institutionalized injustice.

On the Iraq war, Obama has been “refining” his position, meaning he has reversed his earlier position. Also, on the subject of meeting with America’s enemies, the terrorist states of Iran and Syria, Obama has reversed himself. What he will actually do is not known. But he has stated that he will take the “nuclear option off the table,” leaving America defenseless against a nuclear attack. Al Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, the terror groups, Hamas and Hezzbollah, along with North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Il, and Venezuela’s belligerent strongman, Hugo Chavez, have all endorsed Obama. Why? Each would benefit from a weakened America--a virtual certainty if Obama is elected.

The most urgent issue facing most American families is the high and rising cost of energy. Here, Obama has no solution. He has said that he favors conservation, alternative energy sources, and reducing America’s dependence on foreign oil. But his policy plans will accomplish none of these. The worldwide demand for oil is rising, but supplies are not. Obama opposes drilling off-shore, drilling in ANWR, expanding nuclear energy, and suspending the federal tax on gasoline.

Not long ago, when asked if he thought that high energy prices were a good thing, Obama simply said that he would have preferred that gasoline prices had not risen so fast. In Obama-speak, that’s a Yes.

America’s economy runs on oil, and we need more of it, not less. Alternative energy sources are needed, but they are not viable yet, more development is required. Besides adding numerous restrictions, the Democrat Congressional “energy policy” mandates the production of ethanol. Ethanol is not a good source of motor fuel, transporting it is difficult and costly, and its impact upon the environment may be more negative than positive. Ethanol production requires large amounts of corn to be diverted from the food supply, and it has caused escalating food prices and added to inflation. Obama has indicated that his approach to energy policy will be similar to that of Congress.

On these five issues: terrorism, energy, domestic policy, foreign policy, and personal character, Barack Obama either supports failure or has no position. Barack Obama is incompetent, inexperienced, inept, and unpatriotic, making his unacceptable for the position he seeks. For these reasons, Barack Obama is unacceptable to even be considered for president of the United States of America.

The REAL Mortgage Corruption

For many months now, Democrat lawmakers have been pushing for a federal bailout of homeowners and speculators who, through their own poor decisions, bought properties that they could not afford. Contrary to the bombastic bloviating of Democrats in Congress, these borrowers are not the “victims” of predatory lenders. If they are victims, they are victims of their own bad decisions.

President Bush and others are right to oppose the bailout because it would cause the taxpayer to pay for the mistakes of others. We must get the government out of the business of trying to protect people from their own actions. Democrats and the media have hyped the real estate correction, calling it a mortgage crisis. It is not a crisis since it affects only 10% of American borrowers.

Congress, it turns out, created the conditions that made the mortgage defaults likely. Concerned that too few lenders were making loans in “minority communities,” Congress and local leaders encouraged lenders to make loans to high risk borrowers neglecting the very criteria that lenders use to determine whether a borrower is likely to be able to afford the loan. Knowing that a higher percentage of these high-risk borrowers would default, and in order to get these people into homes more expensive homes than they could afford, lenders began offering adjustable rate mortgages. These loans offer a benefit to many homeowners, but they carry an obvious risk. The borrowers must make certain that they will be able to afford they payments when the rate changes. Many did not, and the result is the higher-than-normal number of mortgage defaults. The fault lies not with the lenders, as liberals tell us, but with the borrowers. Lenders were simply doing what Congress asked them to do.

As is the case with the stock market, real estate prices occasionally become over-inflated. If left alone, eventually, the market will make a correction, and the prices will return to reasonable levels. That’s what began to happen last year. Now, Congress is attempting to push a $300 billion bailout of Countrywide Financial, down the throats of responsible taxpayers. Countrywide is the largest lender in the country. This bailout is wrong on many levels, and that is why we oppose it.

This week, we learned that Democrat Senators Chris Dodd of Connecticut, and Senator Kent Conrad of North Dakota, along with several former Clinton administration officials, were given loans by Countrywide for little or no interest. (It just so happens that Senator Dodd is on the banking committee.) In order to appear that they are not profiting from the loans, both Senators have made contributions to charity.

The reason for outrage is that the media has not mentioned this appearance of corruption. Does anyone believe that if Dodd and Conrad were Republicans the news would not saturate news reports for a week? There would be calls for the resignations of the Senators, and certainly, demands for investigations. But, as usual, Democrats get a pass from the media.

There needs to be a Congressional investigation at a minimum. This kind of corruption is exactly the kind of thing that Americans despise about government "leaders." The Senators have said that they knew nothing about these loans, but that's simply not possible.

In the meantime, any bailout of Countrywide financial must be stopped. Forcing American citizens to pay for a huge Congressional mistake is deplorable and unacceptable. Since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that she would end them, charges of corruption have increased. The culture of corruption that exists in Washington must cease, not simply when the suspects are Republicans.

Supreme Blunder

In an unbelievable act of hubris, the U.S. Supreme Court decided to inject itself into another issue that it has no business in. The issue, of course, is the detainment of enemy combatants at the U.S. Naval Station, Guantanamo. Liberals and leftist Democrats have been trying for years, to extend Constitutional protection to terrorists caught in Iran and Afghanistan. Until today, the court has exercised marginal judicial restraint, by leaving the issue to Congress and the President. Sadly, today, that changed. On a “strictly partyline vote” the high court overruled the administration and Congress and provided habeus corpus rights to the captured militants.

Never in 236 years, has the United States of America extended Constitutional protections to prisoners of war. And yet, this court decided that it was time to let the terrorists into US courts to challenge their capture and detention. The four liberal justices and Justice Kennedy made the disturbing ruling. Justice Kennedy said, “The laws and the Constitution are designed to survive, and remain in force, in extraordinary times.” But the justices have taken the Constitution out of context. It is the Geneva Convention that governs the treatment of enemy combatants, not the federal judicial system.

In the near future, Guantanamo detainees can challenged the cases against them in federal court, and since the federal court system also has judges who lack restraint and legislate from the bench, the safety of American citizens and US troops is at risk. Already, Osama bin Laden’s former chauffeur, Salim Ahmed Hamdam is seeking the dismissal of the charges against him. If he is released, he will no doubt be found plotting new attacks against US targets in America and Afghanistan.

In his scalding dissent, Justice Antonin Scalia said, “It will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed.” This ruling is an abortion of law. While our captured troops are beheaded and the event recorded and released on the internet, the US Supreme Court will now provide Constitutional protection to the butchers. It’s an absolute outrage.

The release of Guantanamo detainees has been a goal of groups like “Amnesty International,” as well as the Democrat politicians in Washington. Democrats have demonstrated that they will spare nothing in their attempts to destroy President Bush, and now, the US Supreme Court has joined them. His crime? Protecting the United States from another deadly terrorist attack. So deep is their hatred for this man, that they have betrayed our troops, held up funding, declared the war in Iraq lost, and accused our troops of war crimes. There is no precedent for this kind of reckless destruction for political advantage. No precedent in more than two centuries of American history. It’s wrong, it’s criminal, and it’s unbelievably sinister.

This is the new tactic of Democrat politicians. Destruction of the economy, the military, and the country if that’s what it takes to give them a political edge. It’s time for right-minded people in America to stand against this new kind of political warfare, and get the Dems out of the government. For the past eight years, Democrat politicians have shown that they are totally unworthy of leadership.

What we have witnessed is a fundamental betrayal of the United States by our own government. The judiciary was intended by the founding fathers, to be the least powerful branch of government, yet again and again, the high court has seized power for itself in many controversial issues. This is the strategy of the left. When they cannot get their agenda passed through Congress, they force it through the court system. This must stop. It the separation of powers is not restored soon, each of us will be in grave danger from an out-of-control leftist government that sees no limit to its authority. God help us.

Hypocrisy on Parade

Democrats are attacking President Bush again this week. His offense? Telling the truth about liberals. In a speech to Israel’s Parliament, the Knesset, President Bush told the law-makers, “Some seem to believe that we can negotiate with terrorists, and by some ingenious argument, they will be persuaded they were wrong.” He pointed out that as German forces began invading Poland in World War II, a United States senator prayed, “Oh God, if only I could have talked to Hitler, I could have talked him out of it.” It’s typical liberal arrogance that leads one to believe that someone with a special skill and the will to do so, can negotiate with people who are bent on evil, and talk them out of murdering innocent people.

Although the president singled-out no one, Barack Obama chose to be offended, and condemned the president’s remarks as “an unprecedented political attack.” The trouble is that earlier this year, during one of the Democrat party presidential debates, Obama did say that he would negotiate with terrorists like Iranian President, Ahmadinejab or Syria’s President Assad without pre-conditions. There is nothing to be gained and much to be lost, by any United States president negotiating with such militant thugs. Obama was roundly criticized for his reckless and naïve remarks. But now, Obama denies that he ever made the statement, and Democrats began defending him by attacking President Bush.

I find it interesting that when the truth is told about Democrat politicians, they call it an attack. But because the mainline media is in bed with the Democrat party, no one calls them to task for maligning President Bush by comparing him to Hitler. No one in the media speaks out against John Kerry who accused our military troops of “killing innocent women and children in the dark of night.” The hypocrisy on the left is stupefying.

Now, Delaware Senator Joe Biden has piled on, criticizing the president for making political speeches overseas, saying that “politics stops at the border.” Really? President Bush named no one, but simply criticized negotiation with terrorists as reckless and ignorant. But former President Jimmy Carter has been in the middle east and in Europe denouncing President Bush by name. Former President Bill Clinton, and former VP Al Gore, have both berated President Bush and America in Europe. Within weeks after he lost the 2004 election, Massachusetts Senator John Kerry went to Europe to condemn President Bush. No one in the Democrat party or in the mainline media has said a word about their diatribes, which were vicious and personal. The complaints of Democrat politicians have no credibility and no merit. The Democrats must think that we have very short memories.

At the time of the Democrat debates, Hillary Clinton criticized Obama’s promise to negotiate with terrorists as naïve, and a sign of inexperience. This week, she is attacking President Bush along with other Democrats. The truth is that nearly every Democrat in Congress could have been the subject of President Bush’s judgment of reckless foreign policy. Senate Majority leader Harry Reid declared to the world that the war in Iraq was lost. Pennsylvania Congressman John Murtha, accused US marines of killing unarmed civilians. (His charges were disproved, but no apology has ever been offered by Murtha.)

Democrat attacks of President Bush have been relentless, outrageous, personal, and false. And yet, once he condemns an ignorant and dangerous approach to foreign policy, Democrats choose to be offended. To them, telling the truth about their ideas is an attack.

The political hypocrisy in America has gone on far too long. Fortunately, since liberals no longer have a monopoly on the media, they cannot deceive all of the people. Still, fair and honest treatment of conservatives by the media, is not too much to ask. That should be their intended goal.

Today, the President placed the blame for high gasoline prices exactly where it belongs--on the Democrat leadership in Congress. America needs more oil and more refining capacity.

Once again, Democrats are on the wrong side of the issue. Democrats and their special interest groups--environmental extremists--are holding the country hostage to the demands of these kooks, fighting more oil exploration and refining capacity. Democrats are strangling our economy through their reckless policies, just as they tried to lose the war in Iraq for us.

Predictably, Dems wasted no time blaming high gasoline prices on the greed of the oil companies, even though the federal government steals far more money from gasoline in the form of taxes than oil companies earn, and does absolutely nothing for it. And these same rabid liberals continue to accuse oil companies of prices gouging, even though it’s never been found to have occurred. Don't you wonder how libs sleep at night knowing they‘re lying through your teeth?

The amount of profit that oil companies earn is completely irrelevant, although it runs about 8% of the sale price. For their 8% profit, oil companies drill and pump or purchase crude oil, transport and refine it into various forms of gasoline compounds mandated by state and federal governments, and transport the fuels to a retailer. As an investor, a portion of oil company profits belong to me, and I will not allow Democrats to steal them. Neither should you. I you invest in a 401k plan or mutual funds, you probably own oil company stocks, and their growth provides the gain to your account.

It's time for Americans to take back their government. Call or write your legislators, and demand that they fix this problem that they've created. Insist that they pass a real energy bill--one that actually has some energy in it. Then, go to Americansolutions.org. and sign their petition. Only by sending a quick, strong message to Washington, will lawmakers be convinced to act in the public interest instead of their own.
